The order that pays off fastest:
- Scan the site and fix every missing alt text and empty link first: cheapest fixes, widest reach.
- Read the page outline out loud, headings only. If it does not make sense as an outline, a crawler will struggle too.
- Search for "click here" and "learn more," and rewrite each to name its destination.
- Check contrast against the 4.5 to 1 bar, not by eye.
- Add a visible transcript under every video, not just a caption track.
- Label every field and every icon-only button in plain language.
